Carluke Vital Records - Volume 1 A photographic record has been made of the memorials in St Luke?s Cemetery, and a record of the inscriptions is available on DVD-ROM (For further details send an email to maurice@mebenyon.orangehome.co.uk). Carluke Vital Records - Volume 2A DVD-ROM which records the Memorial Inscriptions at the Annex to St Luke's Cemetery is now available. This cemetery dates mainly from about 1850 to around 1920. The DVD-ROM also contains the burial records for Carluke dated from 1728 to 1851 (with gaps). Further details can be obtained by sending an email to: maurice@mebenyon.orangehome.co.ukNOTE - THIS IS THE ONLY SOURCE TO VIEW TRANSCRIPTIONS OF THE BURIAL RECORDSOne interesting memorial reads as followsErected by John Brown in memory of Emilia Girdwood his wife, whom he deeply regrets. She died on the 14th December, ten minutes before two o?clock a.m. in the year of our Lord 1842 aged 33 years, 7 months and 6 days. Also James Brown son of John Brown who died on 18th May, 1843, twenty minutes past two o?clock a.m. aged 10 years 8 months and 20 minutes; also the above John Brown who died on 16th April 1846, 25 minutes past 4 a.m. aged 39 years 9 months 7 days 4 hours 25 minutes.
